Guides for Instagram
Free tools for everything you post on Instagram
Insta-Editor is a set of free online tools for Instagram. Edit a photo and export it in the right size, make a collage or a story from a template, write a bio in styled letters, find hashtags, save your own Reels and stories, and check the numbers of any public account. Everything works in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no watermark on what you make.
The site has been around since 2021 and was rebuilt in 2026 with tools of our own. It is paid for by ads, so every tool is free to use.
What you can do here
Edit photos. The photo editor tools cover everything from a quick crop to careful color work: exact Instagram sizes with the image resizer, whole photos without cropping on a blurred background, filters, curves, sharpening, frames, stickers and text. All of them open the same editor, so you can combine them in one go and undo any step.
Design posts and stories. Put several photos into one picture with the collage maker, start from post templates or story templates, and give your profile a tidy look with matching highlight covers.
Write better text. Style your name and bio with Instagram fonts, find five precise tags with the hashtag generator, borrow a starting point from caption ideas, and see how well posts do with the engagement calculator.
Save and convert. Download your own posts, Reels and stories, or public content you have permission to use, with the Instagram downloader. Convert video to an Instagram-ready MP4, save the sound as MP3, or shape a clip into a video ad.
Look at public profiles. Browse posts and stories without logging in in the Instagram viewer, check follower and like counts, run analytics and a profile audit, estimate fake followers, and see whether Instagram is down.
Editing stays on your device, lookups use public data
The photo editor, the design tools and the video converters work inside your browser. When you open a photo, your device processes it; it is not sent to our server, and we never see it. That is also why the tools keep working on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Tools that look at Instagram accounts work differently, and we say so plainly. When you enter a username or a link, our server fetches the public data from a data provider and passes it to you. We keep it only for a short time so repeated lookups are quick, and no photos or videos are stored. Your recent searches are remembered only in your own browser. We never ask for your Instagram password, and none of our tools can see private accounts. The privacy policy explains the details.
Made for people who post, not for designers
Most people who use Insta-Editor are not professional designers. They run a small shop, a café or a studio; they are creators building an audience; or they simply want their holiday photos to look good in the feed. The tools are built for them: clear controls, sensible defaults, and sizes that already match Instagram, so you do not have to remember numbers. If you know what you want, the finer settings are there too, such as curves, exact pixel sizes and blend modes.
Everything is designed for phones first, because that is where most posts are made. The controls sit in a panel under the photo, so the picture stays in view while you adjust it, and on most phones the finished picture can be shared straight to your gallery.
Three guides worth reading first
If you are new to posting regularly, start with the Instagram size guide, which lists every format with the numbers from Instagram's own Help Center. Then read how to post a full photo without cropping, the most common problem people bring to a photo editor. Finally, the guide to the best time to post shows how to find the hours when your own followers are online, instead of trusting a generic list. All guides are on the guides page.
Questions
Common questions
Is Insta-Editor really free?
Yes. All tools are free, with no sign-up, no limits on photo editing and no watermark. Ads on the pages pay for the site. Lookups of Instagram accounts have a fair-use limit per hour so the service stays available for everyone.
Do I need an Instagram account?
No. You can edit photos, make designs and view public profiles without one. To post what you made, you use your own Instagram app as usual.
Is Insta-Editor part of Instagram?
No. Insta-Editor is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in current versions of Safari, Chrome and other mobile browsers. The editor has a layout for small screens, with the controls in a panel under the photo.
Can I see private Instagram accounts here?
No. Private posts and stories are visible only to the people the owner approved. We explain what is visible on the private profile page.
In which languages is the site available?
The site is available in many languages; choose yours from the language menu at the top of the page. The tools work the same in every language.
